How Long Till Crops Grow Back in Fallout 4

Hm, there needs to be a settler to harvest, at least, and I seem to recall hearing of plants that withered and died without that. 1 settler, six food units' worth.

You may not need to explicitly assign someone, however; settlers without assignments default to looking for crops nobody is tending.

Yes. I planted around Red Rocket with no one there and they never grew. Not after ten game days. Dropped off Piper for a day and they grew. She is Companion, but she tends crops when dropped off. I thought they would auto spawn after time, but they didnt.

its 1 settler per 6 plants not 6 food units, each plant is only worth 0.5 food units unless your planting mutfruit which are 1 per plant..

Use Mutfruit when doing Crops, its 1 full food per plant

and yes ya need settlers to harvest them you don't have to be thier yourself

It actually is 6 food units.

1 settler can tend 12 corn (or whatever other food) or 6 mutfruit plants.

Well, that explains things. I wonder if there's a mod to get rid of this. Crops don't just grow because a person is waiting to fondle them.

Sometimes it lets you harvest fruit from crops immediately after planting them. But if no settlers are assigned to it, they won't regrow.

Also, it is indeed true that one settler can be assigned to 6 food units, they aren't limited to 6 plants. One settler can farm 6 mutfruit, ot 12 tato, or 12 corn, or 12 melons, etc...

They spend half the day weeding and fertilizing, which does sort of make sense.

I don't know why you'd want to manually harvest crops anyway. A good settlement can get you like 100 food items in your workshop every cycle, which you can just pop in and pick up before fast traveling to the next.

Do harvested craps go into your Workshop inventory automatically?

If I put a companion at red rocket to tend crops will the companion take stuff out my containers? The reason I wanted to have crops without settlers was so that I could have my main home at Red Rocket withot settlers taking my stuff.

Nope, It's the other way around. 6 Food is currect. I have 3 settlers covering all my crops at Sanctuary and I can promise you one almost does the entire Tato field on her own and I have just over a dozen Tato's planted.

Wrong. It is 6 units of food, so any combination of plants it takes to reach 6 units of food.

Also if you are lookign to make vegetables starches and stuff, you are going to need to vary your crops between mutfruit, corn, and tatos and make sure you are growing enough for extra.
